Born Tshepo Calvin Tshabile on the 31st December 1990 in Ganyesa in the North West Provence, South Africa. Raised in Pudimoe in the Taung District of North West. Born relatively chubby at so his mother petnamed him "Dombi" (which means Dumpling in setswana, his native tongue) because of his plumpy and roundish shape. The nickname "Dombi" stuck with him through kindergarden untill he got to Grade 2 (1998) Vryburg Preparatory School where the name changed pronunciation to Dambee because of the multi-racial twanging. Went on to Stellaland Primary School to start Grade 4 (2000). It was around this time when "Dambee" with influence from his older brother got into the whole Hip Hop culture, lifestyle and music. And in the next year, 2001 a more Hip Hop feel was brought on to his name and thus he became "Damstar Dambee". From Grade 5 - Grade 7 2001 - 2003. Damstar Dambee was relatively skilled go reciting his favorite rappers' songs than his friends. He became Damstar D for short plus the fact that he thought Dambee was corny. It wasn't untill he got to Vryburg High School in Grade 8 (2004) that he tried starting to write his own rhymes. But later decided they weren't on the level of skill he'd would've liked them to. Around this time the only South African music he knew of that was close to Hip Hop was Motswako (a vernacular mixture of English and Setswana) which he couldn't be part of because his Setswana wasn't that good because of multi-racial school his whole life whre English had always been the Home Language. Later on in this year he bought his first issue of Hype "South Africa's Only Magazine" (which has helped him significantly in keeping in tune with what was going on go the Hip Hop scene in the country especially the English rap scene which he didn't know of untill he bought the Magazine) Because of his unsatisfaction with his rapping ability he made a decision to only freestyle and battle rap. This went on until Matric in 2008. During his years of freestyling and battling in the Vryburg and Tau
